About

A Shrine to Me

Yes, this is just what the internet needs - another half-conceptualised, increasingly poorly updated website devoted to someone who thinks themselves important enough to have one.

Even worse, look at all the use of black on the site - this guy obviously thinks he is "dark" and "interesting" because as we all know black is cool and anyone who uses it can't be some sort of lifeless geek with no social skills. The reason he doesn't get on with people must be because they don't understand his depth. Yeah, that's it...

So here it is - a shrine to me... wonder how long it will take me to get bored with the self-worship it involves?

Like 98% of stuff published on the www, this site will be completely self-serving and lack any sort of coherency. Cutting edge technology shall be used to deliver my opinions about all and sundry whenever I can't find anything else better to do.

I'll no doubt dazzle the masses with the insight I provide into various life stuff like computer games, geekdom and how calling your ex-girlfriend at 3am after drinking a full bottle of gin is a bad idea. So, the usual self-important crap these sites spout. Part blog, part opinion column, complete time-waster - it's everything the internet was developed for. (Except porn. No porn here. Look elsewhere.)

Actually, the only useful thing this site provides is an excuse to eat more pizza. So it isn't all for nothing...

Username: UnSub

Born and living in Perth, Western Australia, Australia (which isn't in Europe to the geographically challenged) UnSub breaks his own rules by using a nickname he selected for himself. So he's a hypocrite as well as having a shakey grasp on grammar. Why not use his real name? Besides it being incredibly easy to find out, UnSub believes the internet is a medium where anominity rules (right after bad spelling and moronism) so using a monkier is only appropriate. Besides, with UnSub he can sound all cool and mysterious in a sad little fan-boy way.

UnSub is taken from the term for "UNknown SUBject" often used in serial killer investigations. Having a passing interest in the subject (again, this whole "I am dark and interesting" skit he tries to pull) UnSub thought this was a better name than the ones he came up with independently. He also notes that "unsub" is short for "unsubscribe" and isn't bothered by the secondary association. Unlike when he went by the username of Pilgrim... ("Are you religious? Are you religious?" No, I just liked the name." "But your name has to mean something!" "Thanks for that, Vegeta2245." )

UnSub lives with the love* of his life somewhere in Perth. He writes faqs and plays computer games when he can get away with it. The guys at the comic store recognise him on sight. Every now and again UnSub is overwhelmed about how much of a geek-with-no-rhythm he is, but usually a round or two of killing things (on the computer, not the neighbourhood cats or law-abiding citizens), a good graphic novel or a quick white-boy boogie sends that feeling right away. Despite the evidence above, he also claims that he has a life to go with his geekdom.

Why set up a website? Well, all the geeks in the know were doing it, so he thought he'd hop on the bandwagon. Plus he came up with the cool-sounding (to him) Evilasahobby and accompanying concepts and couldn't bear to see his clever (again, to him) property go to waste. After a year of procrastination, he bought the domain... and after another year of procrastination, he actually put up the site.

*In this case love has a sharp tongue and a mean right cross
